Classic All Natural Hand Cream DIY

The best hand cream is often the simplest. My hands have been SO DRY this season! If you've watched my previous videos, you may have noticed my poor hands are red and chapped. This is long overdue. I often procrastinate this diy and I ALWAYS regret it because this works the best of all the expensive hand creams out there that I've tried. I always have coconut oil in the kitchen, and shea butter in the cabinet. I get beeswax from our local honey man down the street for crazy cheap. And we are never without lavender essential oil for diffusing. So why do I pay for hand cream? Just plain silly.

I found this tin a few years back during the Christmas season. It was a lip balm gift set and I bought it specifically for this cute bee tin so that I could use it as the refillable tin for my hand cream. A good tin will last forever. This one has not disappointed. Anyway, point being, the cute tin gift set season is upon us, everyone...keep your eyes peeled. :)

Here's my fave go to version of this classic hand cream recipe-

Coconut oil : shea butter : beeswax : olive oil

1 : 1 : 1 : 1/4

melt it on a simple double boiler (I use a stainless or glass bowl over a saucepan with 1-2" boiling water in the pan)

when its just melted remove from heat and add your fave essential oils. I use 5-8 drops of lavender.

stir well then pour into your tin. boom. done. so easy. :)

For easy clean up pour the boiling water into the empty bowl and add a tsp of dish soap and watch the fun science turn it all white. :) let that sit and cool. I put mine in the fridge for 30 minutes so my curious little man isn't tempted to put his finger in hot oil, but the counter is fine too.

Enjoy!

Casey :)
