Unboxing Baker Creek Seed Order 2023 - SPRING GARDEN Seeds - Gardening Book Picks

Hey everyone,

I’m so exited for Spring!! I love the beginning of the Garden season. It’s so crisp and fresh and full of new possibilities. As you are about to find out, I can talk about gardening ALL DAY LONG. I love it so much. :)

Whether you are a new gardener (I have been there), or just interested in some seed or book recommendations, I think this will be a fun chat. I have book picks for all ages (Sam loves gardening too :), and lots (LOTS) of seeds to talk about. As the season goes on, I’ll have recipes from the garden too.

I cover a lot of seeds in these videos, but I set aside a segment to talk about what seeds I would buy if I were just starting my seed collection to maximize food for budget. I’ll link the time stamps below for convenience. And I've also split off a segment about just what I would recommend for someone just starting their seed collection, so that new gardeners could find that in a search.

If you have any gardening or garden related questions, or topics that you would like me to cover, leave it in the comments. And I’ll be happy to help. If I don't have the answer, I'd be happy to point you to an expert who does. :)

I hope you enjoy this chatty video, and thank you so much for watching! :)

Happy gardening!

- Casey

Short form video: What SEEDS I would recommend to a beginner gardener:

*So we had a really annoying gnat problem when I filmed this…and that day I put out some Aunt Frannie’s Flypunch… I highly recommend if you have gnats with your potting mix or compost. @Shegrowsveg on Instagram also recommends watering house plants with nematodes which are natural predators to gnat larvae.

You can plant your flower seeds out if you have a butterfly garden or a Mary garden, but I often grow many indoors if I have the space.

(You can still sow garlic now if you have not yet, they will be smaller but still good for cooking as long as it’s before the second week of March and you have a couple cold weeks)
