Our Washer Broke! Integrating New Chicks to Our Flock- plus, a Mini THRIFT HAUL (surviving a chaotic week)
The goal this week was a thrift haul, but after a day long wind storm, I had some storm damage to repair (some of which I take you along for in this video (or tried to until my battery died in the cold), predator damage, broken washer, and busy schedule made me think why not do a get it all done, surviving the chaos kinda vlog. lol In case someone else needs a reminder that they are not alone. life can get like that.
The Mini thrift haul is near the end of the video. I found some AMAZING wicker laundry baskets among other in perfect condition finds at Goodwill! And check out the Shrimp pasta Alfredo over arugula (rocket) we had for dinner.... highly recommend. We'll be making that again for sure. I'm always trying to get as many veggies as I can to come together and taste like a nice meal out for my family. My son calls my "restaurant" Fancy, but Simple. :) *he even made me a sign
Thank so much for watching! This week was a bit of a struggle, but looking back as I edited, I experienced more joy than stress so I'm grateful that I filmed or I may not have remembered it that way. lol Our minds are funny like that.
What was on my mind this week as I worked through it: I really believe that struggles like this week are opportunities for growth. Turn to God in prayer and trust Him. See how beautifully He dresses the flowers of the field, and cares for the birds of the air... how much more does He love us? This is why I buy and grow flowers (other than for the bees). I like the visual reminder of Jesus's assurance. I feel like (especially on days like this) days that I don't start and end with prayer and Scripture (especially the Gospel) are like that bird or flower not getting sunshine. I feel cold and wilted. I need my daily sunshine to brighten, warm, and strengthen me. Like exercise strengthens the body, time with God strengthens the soul. And we are both body and soul. Both need daily attention.
Love. xo
